Our Name and Our Look

TLC Logo

Why TLC and why this particular look?

Our theme is based around the icosahedron (yes that interesting looking grey shape) – meaning a “platonic solid” and is pure geometry. It’s an organised structure representing spatial qualities demonstrating that without the individual elements the structure of the whole would collapse! Hence, everything working together in aligned partnership with shared destinies for sustained success – everyone doing BRILLIANT work!

Does TLC in our name mean “Tender Loving Care”?

It certainly does and can do. The origins of our Australian business stem from our UK enterprise “The Think Like Company” which we moved in both spirit and focus in our permanent move to Australia in 2004. So TLC could mean you: Think like …. a customer or a patient, or a painter, or a member of the police force and so it could go on. A recent conversation with a colleague from Holland said we were The Learning Company … yet another idea for TLC!

Like most TLA’s (Three Letter Acronyms) the mnemonic no longer serves it purpose and becomes meaningless over time; very few people refer to 3M as the Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing Corporation of St. Paul. So whilst we have a belief that “thinking like ….” is important we recognise that different perspectives and different thinking is also needed to add some spice to the mix …. and that is where we add the value!
